Training Terms & Conditions
1. Booking & confirmation
Submitting a booking request is a request to reserve a place; it does not guarantee one. A place is confirmed only when Artificial Lift Solutions ("ALS") issues written confirmation. Places are limited and allocated on confirmation.
2. Fees & payment
Course fees are as stated at the time of booking. Fees include the items listed under "What's included" for the relevant course. Unless stated otherwise, fees exclude travel, accommodation, visas and personal expenses.
The full course fee is payable no later than four (4) weeks before the course start date. Where a booking is made within four weeks of the start date, the full fee is payable immediately on booking. If payment has not been received by the due date, ALS may treat the place as cancelled and offer it to a waitlisted applicant.
3. Cancellation & transfers by you
Cancellations must be made in writing to info@dcl-als.com. If you cancel more than 30 days before the start date you will receive a full refund of fees paid; if you cancel between 30 and 14 days before the start date, a 50% refund is due; within 14 days of the start date, no refund is due. You may transfer your place to a colleague at no charge up to 14 days before the start date by notifying us in writing.
4. Changes or cancellation by ALS
ALS may reschedule or cancel a course (for example, where minimum numbers are not met). If ALS cancels, you will be offered a transfer to the next available date or a full refund of the course fee. ALS is not liable for any travel, accommodation or other costs you incur.
5. Visas and entry to the United Kingdom
If you require a visa to enter the United Kingdom to attend a course held in Aberdeen (or elsewhere in the UK), the following applies:
- On request, ALS will provide a letter confirming that you have paid for the course and are booked to attend, together with contact details so the relevant authority can verify your booking.
- The visa application is made by you, in your own name, and entirely at your own cost. ALS does not apply for, sponsor, or guarantee any visa, and provides no immigration advice.
- Where a visa application is formally refused, the course fee will be refunded, subject to: (a) you providing the official written refusal from the relevant authority; (b) your written refund request reaching ALS no later than 14 days before the course start date; and (c) the refund covering the ALS course fee only, not travel, accommodation, application fees or any third-party costs.
- Neither ALS nor any affiliated company, partner or member of personnel is responsible for your travel to, entry into, or stay in the United Kingdom in connection with this course, nor for any consequences of a visa being delayed or refused.
6. Accommodation & travel
Any accommodation link provided is for convenience only. Bookings, payment and arrangements are between you and the provider. ALS is not a party to, and accepts no responsibility for, those arrangements.
7. Attendee conduct
You agree to follow the venue's health, safety and security rules and any reasonable instructions from ALS or the venue. ALS may decline admission to, or remove, anyone behaving unsafely or unlawfully, without refund.
8. Course materials & software licences
Course materials and any included software licence are provided for your individual use in connection with the course and remain the property of ALS or its licensors. They may not be copied, redistributed or used commercially without written permission.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, ALS's total liability arising out of a course is limited to the course fee paid, and ALS is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
10. Data protection
Personal data is handled in line with our privacy notice.
11. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with a course, are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which the course is physically delivered, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction. For courses delivered remotely or online, these terms are governed by the law of the United Arab Emirates. Mandatory consumer-protection laws of the place where a course is delivered continue to apply where they cannot lawfully be excluded.
